Automatic transmission gear knob
The built-in gear knob wears out quickly and no longer looks nice.
It is not available separately. Only the cover is available separately.
Accessory gear knobs and covers are available in different versions.
Replace automatic transmission gear knob
Reach under the cover from the front and then pull it upwards.
switch ignition on and apply the brake, move the selector lever to position D.
Unhook the cover at the rear of the storage compartment and pull it all the way up over the gear knob until the cable tie is visible.
Carefully cut and remove the cable ties (do not damage the shift bag).
Slide the cover and shift bag all the way down.
With a little effort, the selector lever can now be pulled off.
Once the plug for the lighting has been disconnected, the cover can be removed completely.
Oldschool selector lever ordered via Ali-Express. The fit is good. Nothing wobbles.
Assembly is carried out in reverse order. Put the cable tie together beforehand and pull it together to around 4 cm.
Pull the shift bag as far down as possible over the selector lever and fix it lightly in the groove (arrow) with the cable tie.
The eye of the cable tie should point forwards towards the storage compartment,
otherwise it will noticeably penetrate later.
Once the seam of the shift bag is aligned in the centre, the cable tie can be pulled tight and the protruding end cut off.
Place the cover and selector lever over the shift gate, fit the shift knob and press down,
hook the cover onto the front and press it down at the rear until it clicks back into place.
